BEFORE AND AFTER PHOTOS - THIGH LIFT
This operation is done to tighten the loose skin of the
inner thigh and to remove the excess fat. It does not change the texture of the skin but by stretching it the crepiness is made less noticeable and the inner thigh is made firmer. Some patients are not candidates for a thigh lift.
Planning for your surgery
The most important thing Dr.Benchetrit will need to know during your consultation what you hope to achieve. Make certain that you explain what it is you do not like and what you want corrected. Never hesitate to ask questions. You will be asked about your general health and medical history. All operations have some risk. During your consultation, Dr.Benchetrit will explain in detail the risks associated with surgery.
Preparing for your surgery : Dr.Benchetrit will give you specific instructions on how to prepare for surgery, including guidelines on eating and drinking, smoking, and taking or avoiding certain vitamins and medications. If you smoke, plan to quit at least two weeks before your surgery and not to resume for at least two weeks after your surgery. Avoid overexposure to the sun before surgery, and do not go on a stringent diet, as both can inhibit your ability to heal. If you develop a severe cold or infection of any kind, your surgery will probably be postponed. Whether your surgery is done on an outpatient or inpatient basis, you should arrange for someone to drive you home after your surgery, and to help you out for a day or two after you leave the hospital, if needed.
The Surgery: The method of surgery is to undermine and remove the excess skin as well as removing the excess fat by liposuction. The incision is placed in the groin. The operation is done under a general anesthetic (you are asleep). Depending on the amount of skin that needs to be removed, an additional vertical incision extending along the length of the inner thigh to the knee may be required. The scar from this incision will fade with time. The excess skin and fat is then removed, the remaining tissue is tightened and lifted, and the incision stitched closed
When you go home
The aftercare process is a vital part of your surgery. This takes the form of follow up visits in which your wounds will be checked and stitches removed if necessary. The aim of these check ups is to keep an eye on your progress after surgery.
You can expect your thighs to feel tight, sore and swollen after surgery, this is completely normal. You will need to wear a special compression garment during this time to reduce any swelling. As with any form of surgery, rest and take things easy. Expect to be sore and bruised, and tired as well. Avoid any strenuous activities or contact sports for 4 to 6 weeks. The recovery takes one to two weeks. Most people are back to work within two to four weeks.
