The Morpheus8

What is Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 is a fractional skin treatment that combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy (RF). Up to 24 tiny gold-plated needles enter the skin with each pulse and deliver RF energy deep into the dermis or below to get the maximum rejuvenating benefit. The RF energy shrinks the existing collagen, which firms the skin, and stimulates new collagen production of the underlying layers of the dermis. This causes further skin tightening and smoothing. By targeting the deeper layers of the skin, tissues of the face and body can be remodeled to reveal a more radiant and youthful appearance.

  • Length of treatment: 45-90 minutes
  • Indications : wrinkles, loose skin, hyperpigmentation, scars, active acne, stretch marks, cellulite etc.

Before and After Photos of Morpheus8

The breakdown of collagen and elastin in the face as we age contributes to unpleasant signs of aging such as wrinkles and loose, sagging skin. Morpheus8 is a new non-surgical skin tightening treatment that revitalizes the face, neck and body, producing beautiful and natural-looking results. Morpheus8 has been used all over the world and Dr. Benchetrit offers it at Cosmedica, our Montreal plastic surgery practice. If you’re interested, we encourage you to schedule a free consultation today.

The Morpheus8 Consultation

During the consultation, Dr. Benchetrit, his nurses or medical estheticians will evaluate you to determine if you are a Morpheus8 candidate and describe the treatment in greater detail. We will examine your face, neck or body area of concern and inquire about your general health, medical history and lifestyle. We will also ask you to identify the features of your face or body that you find unattractive — such as loose skin, wrinkles or loss of definition in your jawline and neck or loose skin, stretchmarks or cellulite of the thighs, buttocks, abdomen, upper arms etc. If you suffer from acne we will evaluate the type of acne you have as well as any scars. We can then determine whether Morpheus8 (or another procedure) will produce the best results for your needs.

Dr. Benchetrit or his staff will also use this time to explain what you can expect from a Morpheus8 treatment. We will give you instructions on preparing for treatment and recovering from it. We will also educate you on the rare risk of complications.

How Morpheus8 Works to Improve Your Skin

Morpheus8 delivers powerful fractionated radiofrequency energy deep into the skin where it is most effective. Radiofrequency (RF) energy is a scientifically proven method to remodel and rebuild collagen. The treatment is minimally invasive, using a matrix of micro pins to renew the deeper layers of the skin with almost no patient downtime. By varying the depth of the needles and the amount of energy, the Morpheus8 treatment can be custom-tuned to your particular skin type and thickness.

Which Areas Can Be Treated?

Morpheus8 can be used on any areas of the face, neck or body that can benefit from tightening, resurfacing and subdermal renewal. The most commonly treated areas include the face, periorbital area, neck, abdomen, thighs, the skin above the knees, and the buttocks.

What Kind of Problems Can Be Treated With The Morpheus8?

For the face and neck, the Morpheus8 can treat loose skin, loss of definition, wrinkles, fine lines, hyperpigmentation and scars. For the body, Morpheus8 can treat loose skin, cellulite and is the most effective treatment yet for stretch marks.

I Have Acne. Is the Morpheus8 a Good Treatment?

Morpheus8 is a novel, off-label treatment for active acne. If medications and creams have not worked well or if you have undesirable side effects from these, Morpheus8 is a good alternative for controlling active pimples and oily skin. This treatment will also improve the appearance of acne scars, especially the more common crater-type scars.

Morpheus8 Treatment: What to Expect

Morpheus8 is a non-surgical procedure that requires only topical anesthetic ointment. There are no medications or incisions. The nurse or medical esthetician will direct the Morpheus hand piece on the treatment area. As the treatment begins, you will feel either nothing or perhaps a mild to moderate pinching sensation and heat. This should not be very uncomfortable. The treatment takes approximately 45-90 minutes, depending on the area being treated. Afterward, your skin may appear moderately red or swollen and occasionally there may be tiny pinprick marks. These side effects will quickly disappear over the next few hours or days.

How Many Sessions Are Recommended?

We will recommend the optimal number of sessions to be performed based on your personal objectives. Treatment times and frequency will be specifically tailored to obtain the optimal results. Most patients will see best results after 3 – 5 treatments

How Quickly Will I See Results? How Long Do They Last?

Visible results can be seen within a few days, but typically after three weeks the most noticeable results appear. Improvements continue up to three months after treatment. Results can last 12 months or more and maintained with a yearly touch-up treatment

Can Anyone Use Morpheus8?

One of the unique benefit of Morpheus8’s color blind technology is that it can be used on ALL skin types. Unlike lasers and some other energy devices, the unique properties of the Morpheus8 allow even darker skin tones to be treated without risk of pigmentation changes.

Can This Be Used In Combination With Other Treatments?

Yes, Morpheus8 can be used in the same treatment session, or a few days after other treatments such as IPL, Ulthera, Thermage, injections etc. to achieve more extensive results.

When Can I Use Make-Up After The Morpheus8 Treatment?

Because patient downtime is minimal, makeup can usually be applied 1 to 2 days after the treatment.

What Kind of Skin Care is Required After the Morpheus8 Treatment?

Patients should use moisturizers over the treated area and avoid direct exposure to sunlight. We also recommended that patients use a high quality sunscreen every day.
