When is it Time to Consider a Brow Lift Over Botox?

Botox versus a brow lift in Montreal

If forehead lines and drooping brows are making you look worn out or older than you are, you’re not alone. When Botox stops delivering the smooth, lifted look you want, it may be time to explore a more permanent fix.

Dr. Arie Benchetrit, renowned for his expertise and frequent appearances on programs like “Good Morning America,” can help you decide when a brow lift might serve you better than continued Botox treatments.

Signs Botox Isn’t Enough Anymore

Botox temporarily relaxes forehead muscles to smooth wrinkles. However, it doesn’t effectively address significant skin sagging or permanently reposition a drooping brow. Consider a brow lift if Botox:

  • No longer adequately lifts your eyebrows
  • Requires frequent touch-ups, becoming costly and inconvenient
  • Doesn’t address the heaviness or hooding of your upper eyelids

What Happens at Your Brow Lift Consultation?

During your consultation, Dr. Benchetrit will ask what bothers you about your eyebrow line or forehead. You might mention:

  • Low or sagging eyebrow position
  • Deep horizontal forehead creases
  • Frown lines (“11 lines”) between your eyebrows

He’ll also review your medical history and current health status to confirm you’re a suitable brow lift candidate. Dr. Benchetrit explains your options, including surgical and non-surgical methods to lift your brow. Viewing before-and-after photos helps set realistic expectations and ensures you’re comfortable with the planned approach.

What to Expect from Brow Lift Surgery

A brow lift procedure involves tightening tissues and muscles in your forehead to elevate the eyebrow line, smooth creases, and restore a youthful, energetic appearance.

Dr. Benchetrit specializes in minimally invasive brow lift techniques because they provide impressive results without major scars and prolonged downtime. He typically conceals small incisions behind the hairline, leaving minimal visible scarring later.

Dr. Benchetrit favors the trans-blepharoplasty approach using the Endotine implant. With this approach, Dr. Benchetrit creates a tiny incision in the upper eyelid — often the same used for blepharoplasty — allowing simultaneous correction of drooping brows and eyelids.

The Endotine implant, a dissolvable device resembling a tiny hook, is secured to the bone beneath the brow, elevating it to the desired position.

The implant gradually dissolves over a period of about six months. Your body produces natural scar tissue around the implant, which remains and keeps your brow in its new, lifted position for several years.

This technique offers precise brow elevation, minimal visible scarring, and a faster recovery versus traditional brow lifts. The surgery typically takes a few hours and offers significantly longer results than Botox.

To further refine your facial rejuvenation, Dr. Benchetrit might recommend complementary procedures, such as eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), a short-scar facelift, or a neck lift. Combined treatments help create harmonious, natural-looking rejuvenation for the long term.
